What HideIt stores

When you hide an element, HideIt saves a small rule (the website address and a description of the element you hid) in your browser's own extension storage. That's the only data HideIt creates, and it never leaves your device unless you export it yourself.

What HideIt can see

HideIt cannot read any page until you click the HideIt button to turn it on for that tab. When active, it looks at the page only to let you point at elements and to keep your hidden elements hidden. It does not record, transmit, or analyze page content.

What we collect about you

Optional: support & updates registration

On our website (hideit.ca) you can choose to register for update announcements and priority support by giving us your name and email address. This is entirely opt-in, happens only on the website (never inside the extension), and we use it solely to answer your support requests and tell you about HideIt updates. We never sell or share it, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it anytime by emailing hello@hideit.ca. If you uninstall, we may show a feedback page where anything you submit (including an optional email) is voluntary too.

Third parties

HideIt makes no network requests and shares nothing with anyone. There are no third-party services embedded in the extension.

Export / import

You may export your hide rules to a file for backup or moving to another computer. That file is created locally and is entirely under your control.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new date. Given that we collect nothing, changes are unlikely.
